Walking

Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Ross-on-Wye is a fantastic base for walking breaks in Herefordshire.

There are a number of nearby hiking routes around The Wye Valley, The Forest of Dean, Symonds Yat and further afield into Wales for enthusiasts to explore.

The terrain is diverse and exciting, with rolling forested hills and winding rivers, and there are many lovely picnic spots where you can stop for a well-needed rest whilst enjoying the scenery.

Offa’s Dyke Path is an interesting historical walking route following the dyke built by Offa, King of Mercia, which traditionally formed the boundary between England and Wales.

The Wye Valley Walker offers a range of lovely choices for all levels of hiker visiting Ross-on-Wye and Herefordshire.
