We have just returned home after a 3 night stay at your hotel. Just like to say many thanks to your staff for their work – they all made us feel welcome & the service was excellent. We loved the hotel & the food in the restaurant was superb. It was a shame so few people were using it. We will be returning again – hopefully when the rain has subsided !!!

My wife and I were guests at the Newent POBUS Christmas lunch held at your hotel last Tuesday. I am writing to record my great satisfaction and pleasure with the meal provided. Your chef produced food of the very best quality quickly and expertly served. We have been around the world on Cunard QE2 before she retired enjoying first class accommodation. My meal, especially the salmon starter, would have done the QE2 first class restaurant proud. The overall cost was most reasonable too and you have every cause to be very proud of your catering staff. Well done !

My bhusband and i stayed for a night this past weekend and were both extremely impressed with the hotel. The food in Harry’s restaurant was fabulous! Faultless! We shall both be coming back again in the future. The hotel is decorated well and very clean. The room was lovely with a modern spacious bathroom. Overall a wonderful weekend away!!

We stayed with you on the gourmet package for 4 nights from Monday 27 October. Our experience of hotels in the UK as a gay couple is not on the whole a positive experience. From arrival late afternoon on the Monday, the receptionist was charming, very welcoming, cheery and most helpful and that set the scene with the rest of your staff for the rest of our stay!
We are great ‘foodies’ and my partner had booked the gourmet package as a ‘significant birthday’ treat for me (delayed to half term as Michael is a teacher) and we were bowled over by the adventurous, varied and stunningly presented food. The star for me was the rolled rabbit starter – wow!
The accommodation, room 35, was very comfortable, well presented, immaculately clean, most comfortable and afforded lovely views of the gardens and the countryside beyond.
It is hard to single out members of staff but wish to praise in particular the receptionist on or arrival, the tall young barman on the first night (and other nights). Your wonderfully friendly and professional more ‘mature’ lady (for identification purposes only) in charge of the restaurant engaged with us so wonderfully on what we went to see in the area. The charming young lady in the restaurant who encouraged us to get our next holiday booked – she having booked her first wedding anniversary holiday next year. Finally staff wise, the lovely, friendly, enthusiastic Thomas who served us at breakfast on two occasions. He is one cool, lovely guy and speaking as a Human Resources executive, has a great future in hospitality industry and we wish him well in life.
As a final point, what a great ‘tween’ Christmas and New Year deal for Civil Ceremony packages! Watch this space for Michael and I for the future……………….
    Very kind regards
    Tim Simmonite
